These terms govern your use of the SkinMax iOS app and tryskinmax.com. By using either, you agree to them. If you don't agree, don't use the service.
1. What SkinMax is — and isn't
SkinMax provides cosmetic skincare guidance: analysis of visible skin characteristics from photos you provide, routine suggestions, product guidance and progress tracking. SkinMax is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. Scores and routines describe visible, cosmetic characteristics only. For any health concern about your skin — anything persistent, painful, rapidly changing or worrying — consult a GP or dermatologist. Never delay seeking medical advice because of something SkinMax showed you.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use SkinMax. If you're under 18, you should have a parent or guardian's permission to make purchases.
3. Subscriptions
Your scan and scores are free. SkinMax Pro — the full routine, product matches and progress tracking — is a weekly auto-renewing subscription purchased through Apple, with an introductory free trial where offered. Billing, renewal and cancellation are managed entirely by Apple: subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and you can cancel any time in your Apple ID settings (Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions). Prices are shown in the app before purchase. Refunds are handled by Apple under their standard policy.
4. Product recommendations and affiliate links
Product guidance is drawn from a curated catalogue and matched to your analysis. Some links are affiliate links — as an Amazon Associate, SkinMax earns from qualifying purchases at no extra cost to you (see our Affiliate Disclosure). Recommendations are general cosmetic guidance, not a guarantee of suitability: check ingredient lists against your own sensitivities and patch-test new products. Purchases from third-party retailers are governed by the retailer's own terms.
5. Your content
You retain ownership of the photos you upload. You grant us the limited licence needed to store and process them solely to provide the service to you, as described in our Privacy Policy. Don't upload photos of anyone other than yourself without their consent.
6. Acceptable use
Don't attempt to reverse-engineer the app, abuse the analysis service, circumvent the paywall, or use SkinMax for anything unlawful. We may suspend accounts that do.
7. Availability and changes
SkinMax is provided "as is". We work to keep it available and accurate, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted service, and analysis results — like any AI output — can vary. We may update features over time; material changes to paid features will be communicated in the app.
8. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, SkinMax is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the app. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under UK law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and disputes are subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
