Privacy Policy

SkinMax ("we", "us") is a skincare guidance and routine-tracking app for iOS, operated from the United Kingdom. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and the control you have over it. The short version: your photos exist to power your analysis, they stay in your private account, and you can delete everything at any time.

1. What we collect

• Scan photos. The guided selfies you take in the app, used to generate your skin analysis and to track progress against your baseline over time.
• Analysis results. The scores, identified concerns and routines generated from your scans.
• Routine activity. Your daily check-ins, streaks and progress history.
• Account data. SkinMax uses anonymous accounts by default — we don't require your name or email to use the app. If you join our waitlist or contact support, we hold the email address you give us for that purpose.
• Purchase data. Subscription status, processed by Apple and RevenueCat (see section 4). We never see or store your payment card details.

2. How your photos are used

Photos are used solely to generate your skin analysis and progress comparisons. Specifically:

• Photos are stored securely in private storage tied to your account, hosted by Supabase. They are not publicly accessible.
• To produce your analysis, photos are transmitted securely to our AI provider (Anthropic) for processing. Under our API agreement, Anthropic does not use this data to train its models.
• We never sell your photos, never share them with advertisers, never use them for marketing, and never use them to train AI models.

3. What we don't do

• We do not sell personal data. To anyone, ever.
• We do not show third-party advertising in the app.
• We do not provide medical diagnosis — analysis describes visible cosmetic characteristics only.

4. Third-party services

SkinMax relies on a small number of processors to function:

• Supabase — database, authentication and secure photo storage.
• Anthropic — AI analysis of scan photos (no training on your data).
• RevenueCat & Apple — subscription management and payment processing.
• Expo — app infrastructure and push-notification delivery (notifications are scheduled locally on your device).

Each processes data only as needed to provide the service, under their own privacy commitments.

5. Affiliate links

Product recommendations in the app and on this site may contain affiliate links, including to Amazon. As an Amazon Associate, SkinMax earns from qualifying purchases. Clicking an affiliate link takes you to the retailer's site, which has its own privacy policy — retailers may use cookies to attribute the referral. We receive no personal information about what you browse or buy. See our Affiliate Disclosure.

6. Retention and deletion

Your data is kept while your account is active so your baseline comparisons keep working. You can delete individual photos or your entire account at any time from inside the app (Settings → Delete account). Deletion removes your photos, analysis history and routine data from our systems. Waitlist emails are deleted on request or once launch communications end.

7. Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete and port your data, and to object to or restrict processing. To exercise any of these, email support@tryskinmax.com — we respond within 30 days. You can also complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk) if you're unhappy with how we've handled your data.

8. Age

SkinMax is intended for users aged 13 and over, consistent with the App Store rating. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13; if you believe a child under 13 has used the app, contact us and we'll delete the data.

9. Security

Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest. Photo storage and database access are protected by row-level security, meaning your data is technically accessible only to your own account.

10. Changes

If this policy changes materially, we'll notify you in the app before the change takes effect. The latest version always lives at tryskinmax.com/privacy.html.
